Born in Matsuyama, Ehime. In addition to athletics (namely, the triple jump) and boxing, he continued to dance until his high school graduation at Dance Studio MOGA in Matsuyama. After enrolling at the Kyoto University of Art and Design, Kurota participated in network exchanges with artists and professors and performed with "MuDA" at events such as the Setouchi Triennale. Upon debuting the works “Reboot a stain” (2016) and “The Drooping Sky” (2017) under his own group “Kankaku Zekkyo Keikaku”, Kurota’s focus has gradually shifted more towards dance.
Kuroda participated in JCDN’s “Program for Young Choreographers and Dancers” held at the Kinosaki International Arts Center in 2017, and starred in “Botchan Retreat” (directed by Nathan Smith and Max Pollard), 2017-8 JCDN International Dance in Residence Exchange Project vol.7 Japan/ Australia Co-production Dance Movie. He has returned to Japan after spending half a year since summer of 2018 studying and training abroad in New York. His life’s work of improvising sessions with street performers will continue through “crosspaths”.
