Detsu Yoshiki

Yoshiki enrolled in the Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2015 with the goal of becoming an actor. After getting in touch with Koichiro Tamura, he became drawn to dance and studied dance and body expression from Misako Terada, Takeshi Yazaki, Zan Yamashita, Kim Itoh, and Yasuko Yokoshi. Yoshiki announced his first choreographed piece “FREE TIME” in 2016, with the work “RAIZE” following the same year. Later, he presented various works at competitions and unannounced performance and was also involved in choreographing for theater performances. Yoshiki began constructing full-scale creations in 2018, actively launching projects for organizations such as “FOuR DANCERS”. His latest work is “Contemporary Playwright Series #9: A ‘New Japanese Empire’ Using the Constitution of Japan.” In addition, he has shared the stage with Masato Nomura, Luis Garay, the Mikenecoza Theater Company, and Midori Kurata. Yoshiki is studying works created from both a dance and theater perspective.
