"Performing the Air / Performing the Body"

2015/07/07

Do you like onsen?
Do you like to fly?
Did you ever fly a taco/kite?
Do you like octopus?
Do you need a change in your life?
Would you like to dance more and (re)discover your body?
Then join us for a special workshop to work with Cosmin Manolescu, a choreographer based in Bucharest, Romania, Eastern Europe.

Performing the Air is a creative dance workshop led by Romanian choreographer Cosmin Manolescu, which will explore the concept of the emotional body. Following a series of successful international workshops in Tokyo, Riga, Luxembourg, Porto and Bucharest in 2014/2005, Cosmin Manolescu brings to Kinosaki an experimental workshop combining kite with contemporary dance. Throughout the workshop, the participants will be able to (re)discover the body using different dance techniques, relaxation, massage technique and closed-eyes dance sessions. Touch, exploration, improvisations, flying the kite and working with the imagination are key elements of the workshop. The workshop is open to Kinosaki tourists and local artists and people interested to learn and experience more about contemporary dance. Performing the Air is organised as part of “Eastern Connection 2015” residency in Kinosaki International Arts Center with the financial support of the Saison Foundation, Tokyo.
