Kenta Kojiri (Dance) × Arditti Quartet (Music)
Creation of a collaboration work of music and dance by the world-renowned Arditti Quartet, specialist of contemporary music and 20th century music, and Kenta Kojiri, dancer and choreographer who not only works on his solo and improvisation but also collaborates with artists of other genres and choreographs musicals and operas in Japan and abroad.
In the first half of the residency, Kojiri will do some research and experiments on movements, lighting design and performance space with stage director Satoshi Ozaki and lighting designer Masakazu Ito under the name of his project “Surface and Destroy” where Kojiri works with artists of other genres. The Arditti Quartet will join in the second half to start with the adjustment of the interpretation on music, and proceed to rehearse. After the open studio toward the end of the residency, they will perform in Kanagawa and Aichi.
