Schedule:2020.7.26 sun. 14:00 start

Maki Morishita×Toshiki Usui
"Dancing Symphony No.5 by Beethoven `Fate`"

★This event was under postponement in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), but it has since been decided to move the date to July 26th. (As of June 23rd)

2020 marks the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth. Although the 7th Music Note Festival was canceled due to COVID-19, the Kinosaki International Arts Center (KIAC) is implementing its first ever collaboration with the Music Note Festival!
This will be a public dance and music performance by choreographer and dancer Maki Morishita, an Artist-in-Residence at KIAC, and Toshiki Usui, the music director of the Music Note Festival.
In 2017, the work was presented as Morishita’s solo work, with choreography by artists of various different backgrounds – MIKIKO, Mirai Moriyama, Naoki Ishikawa, and Akira Kasai – for each movement.

The various tones of each musical movement are able to be expressed through the body of a single dancer.
For this performance, Toshiki Usui will be performing the piano solo “Fate” arranged by composer Franz Liszt!
This is a special Toyooka take on the piece that’s not to be missed!

The following people have provided choreography for Morishita’s performance!
▼First Movement Choreo: MIKIKO (choreography director)
She’s done choreography for the pop group Perfume, directs their live productions, and has also directed the famous dance for “Koi” by Gen Hoshino!
▼Second Movement Choreo: Mirai Moriyama (actor/ dancer)
He actively plays roles for film, television dramas, and stage! And is also a dancer!
▼Third Movement Choreo: Naoki Ishikawa (photographer)
An adventurous photographer who’s climbed all Seven Summits of the World!
▼Fourth Movement Choreo: Akira Kasai (Japanese butoh dancer/ choreographer)
A legendary butoh dancer active both in Japan and abroad!
