Dance Camp is a program for the '"Dance it is"- Training program for choreographers to make use of the contemporary dance platform, organized by the NPO Japan Contemporary Dance Network (JCDN). The process of workshops and creating pieces for the training program will be undertaken under the creative environment of the Kinosaki International Arts Center.
Participants have been selected from a pool of applicants from all over the country and split into young artist groups of 3-5 people made up of those who have experience working as choreographers, directors, filmmakers, artists, performers, dancers, and more. This time, we will have four groups.
The facilitators of the event are Dean Moss (participating online) and Yasuko Yokoshi (who is currently living in Kyoto), two artists from New York renowned as front running creators in the pursuit of experimental works, who have continued to present their pieces since the 1990s.
There will be a public performance held as a work-in-progress showing on the last day of the training camp.
