*About the exchange program Prospered with many tourists as one of leading hot springs in Japan, Kinosaki (in Toyooka city, Hyogo Prefecture) is a uniquely cultured town where 3000 inhabitants have specific way of life as most of them are involved in tourism, at the same time they daily accept the tourists from various cultural background. As symbolized by the novel titled “Kinosaki nite”(At cape Kinosaki) of Japanese writer Shiga Naoya who came and stayed in Kinosaki and made it blockbuster later, citizens of Kinosaki is proud to support the artists. Along with the name of Kinosaki, “branding by artistic activities” is a challenge to the future of Toyooka city, which tries to be a “small world city” and it is the purpose to establish Kinosaki International Arts Center to support the Artists-in-Residence activitiesin this city. Therefore the aim of the exchange program is the introduction for the citizens about what they are supporting.
