EVENT
Artocrite Theater(藝君子劇團)
❶Screening of “I am Tree”
❷Work-in-Progress Showing of “The Bacchae – Holstein Milk Cows”
1/2
Pursuing social and political themes, Artocrite Theater, a rising contemporary theater company from Hong Kong, will present a work based on a Cantonese translation of Satoko Ichihara's play "The Bacchae − Holstein Milk Cows." The play reinterprets contemporary Japanese theater from the perspective of Hong Kong artists and attempts to unravel various dilemmas surrounding female identity, the ethics of reproduction, and the role of animals in human societies.
During their residency, Artocrite Theater will host a screening and artist talk focused on their acclaimed production "I am Tree", which explores themes of race, gender, and violence.
The end of their stay, they will present a showcase of the Cantonese-language version of "The Bacchae – Holstein Milk Cows", written by Satoko Ichihara, Artistic Director of KIAC.
After each event, there will be a post-talk where you can learn more about the work and hear directly from the artists.
We warmly welcome everyone to join us for this special gathering.
